Zakopane is located at the foot of the Tatras in a mountain region called Podhale, the most popular touristic, folk-oriented and sports center in Poland. Zakopane is located in a small valley closed with the Tatras in the south. Its beauty has been atracting Polish and foreign tourists for ages.
People associate Zakopane, the cradle of Polish skiing - with winter sports. Podhale is also the only region in Poland with so alive and cherished folk culture.
